“Threads of You” Logo & Album Art

Threads of You is a post-punk/new-wave band based in South Carolina. Their influences include Joy Division, The Cure, and Echo and the Bunnymen.

The goal of this project was to evoke a feeling of early- to mid-80’s nostalgia, while also adding a touch of modern flair. The font Sprat Bold was used as a base for the logo, referencing ITC Benguiat (best known for its association with Stephen King and Stranger Things, as well as being a generally ubiquitous typeface throughout the 80s).

Physical release mock-up.

The appearance of texture was given as a nod to the textured sleeve for the original LP of Joy Division’s Unknown Pleasures. Wear and tear was also added to emphasize the feeling of an old, well-loved record.
